Casting Standards, S.O.S.’ cutlery collection, gives discarded knives, forks and spoons a second life. Through casting and reworking their familiar forms, everyday utensils are transformed into objects with unexpected, slightly uncanny handles, somewhere between the useful and the unusual.
What was once part of an ordinary dinner setting becomes something to look at twice. Familiar shapes take on a new character, inviting us to reconsider the objects we use, keep and often overlook.
For this edition of Vintage + art, Sudden Object Studio brings Casting Standards to Oud House in a pop-up wall installation. A small shift in perspective, a playful twist on the everyday, and a reminder that even the most ordinary objects can find a new life.
